About

A gated, almost silent courtyard of seventeenth century houses tucked two minutes from the noise of Spui Square, once home to a lay sisterhood and still lined with private residences today. Het Houten Huys at number 34 is one of only two wooden facades left standing in the city centre, dating back to around 1420. People still live around the lawn, so the etiquette is simple: stay on the paths and keep voices down.
